About

Tad Nightingale

Inspired by research showing that puzzles like crosswords and word searches can support cognitive health, sharpen memory, and even slow aspects of cognitive decline in older adults, Tad Nightingale created the Nostalgia Puzzles™ series.

His goal was simple yet powerful: craft relaxing, large-print puzzle books that deliver hours of enjoyable mental stimulation while transporting readers back to the decades they love most.

Each book takes seniors on a joyful trip down memory lane — whether through the Relaxing & Nostalgic Large-Print Word Search editions spanning the 1950s through 1990s, or the newer Relaxing & Nostalgic Puzzle collections featuring word finds, crosswords, jumbles, themed mazes, and fun trivia. Readers regularly share how these puzzles bring back vivid memories of sock hops and drive-ins, Woodstock and disco balls, big hair and boomboxes, and the unforgettable pop culture of the 90s.

Every book is designed with seniors in mind: large, easy-to-read print, brain-friendly challenges, and plenty of smiles. Each one pairs gentle mental exercise with the comforting warmth of nostalgia — helping readers stay sharp while simply having fun.

Tad brings a lifelong love of reading, learning, and trivia to every page, rooted in his years competing in Brain Bowl and College Bowl as a full-scholarship student. That same passion now reaches beyond nostalgia into American history and civics, with Red, White, and Blue: An American Puzzle Adventure and the upcoming Land of the Free, Home of the Puzzle— books designed to make learning the story of America's founding genuinely enjoyable for students of all ages and a fun experience for the whole family.

The Nostalgia Puzzles™ series continues to grow because Tad believes every generation deserves a chance to reminisce, relax, and keep their mind wonderfully alive — with many new titles on the way.

A note about the name: Tad is a nickname. Tad Nightingale is Earl Nightingale Jr. — son of legendary broadcaster, radio personality, writer, and personal development pioneer Earl Nightingale. Tad is immensely proud of his father's legacy, and chooses to publish under his nickname so that his work stands on its own merits. Make of that what you will.
